Spirit Bear in The Great Bear Rainforest

Fiona Foyer, Age 55

This is not a polar bear but is a brown bear that is white. They are only in found in The Great Bear Rainforest, which is on the west coast of Canada.
These spirit bears are sacred and are protected, beautiful animals in a very beautiful part of the world.

This is painted in watercolour, even the black lines, these are the most complicated paintings that I create.

I've always been creative and have loved painting from the first time I painted with oils. Because I am an oil painter my use of watercolours are not typical.

I paint a variety of different subjects, have often been told that I should just stick to one topic but I can't do that. I find this world so interesting, full of amazing ideas, places and people that I need to capture and celebrate in paint.
